Cerro Negro Gold Project

Mariana Sur

The Mariana Sur prospect area is located in the north-eastern section of the Cerro Negro tenements. Earlier work by MIM included some semi-regional geological mapping and geochemistry. Work by previous explorers in 2002 was of a reconnaissance nature, but defined a structural corridor containing outcropping and sub-cropping epithermal style quartz-chalcedony vein systems trending north-westerly. Some of the vein material was amethystine - a good sign for high grade gold mineralization in these systems. Siliceous breccia and manganiferous zones were also observed. Rock chip and float samples taken by MIM previously have returned elevated gold values (some in excess of 150 g/t Au).

The structural zone of interest is some 400 meters wide and 2.0 kilometers long. Andean's exploration program comprised trenching, rock chip sampling, and gradient array resistivity followed by four reverse circulation holes. No significant mineralization was intersected in any of these holes and no further testing is planned in Phase 5.
